2016-2017 Project
STEM-Based Learning
We learned there was a discrepancy of high school seniors that wanted to go into a STEM-related field, but didn't meet the readiness benchmarks. We developed a plan to get other kids at the elementary level excited about STEM so that they will be interested in it and pursue it in college. We worked with a class of 1st graders and taught them about Light and did an engineering project where they had to design, build, test, and refine designs of structures! See our video below...

Law Enforcement AppreciationThe students at Lone Oak Intermediate and Reidland Intermediate Schools have been working collaboratively on this project. Their goal is to bring a culture of appreciation and respect to the Paducah/McCracken County community. They have a facebook page where members of the public can leave inspiring messages of appreciation to law enforcement agencies and officers. They are planning school-wide events such as blue ribbon week and a police luncheon.
